This is the seventh sequential increase in Zeekr‘s monthly deliveries, bringing January-August deliveries to 66,975 vehicles, up 114.68 percent year-on-year.

Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of Geely Holding Group, saw record deliveries last month.

Zeekr delivered 12,303 vehicles in August, a new record high, up 71.69 percent year-on-year and up 2.19 percent from July, according to data released today.

This is the seventh sequential increase in monthly deliveries for Zeekr, bringing January-August deliveries to 66,975 vehicles, up 114.68 percent year-on-year.

Zeekr delivered above 10,000 vehicles each month in the fourth quarter of last year, but deliveries fell to 3,116 in January, due in part to a plant shutdown for upgrades.

Zeekr is aiming to double its deliveries this year from last year to about 140,000 units, which means it will need to deliver an average of about 18,256 vehicles per month over the next four months.

At the end of August, Zeekr’s cumulative deliveries since its inception stood at 144,923 vehicles, data monitored by CnEVPost show.

Zeekr was formally established as a standalone company in March 2021, with its first model, the Zeekr 001, launched on April 15, 2021, and deliveries began in October 2021.

On November 1, 2022, Zeekr’s second model, the Zeekr 009 MPV, was officially launched and its deliveries began on January 15.

On April 12, Zeekr launched its third model, the Zeekr X, whose deliveries in China began on June 12.

In order to reach its full-year sales target as well as to deal with the increasing competition in the EV market, Zeekr announced on August 11 that customers who purchased the Zeekr 001 during the year would be eligible for a discount of between RMB 30,000 ($4,130) and RMB 37,000.

On August 15, Zeekr said it extended opening hours until 11 pm at 11 of its stores in 10 cities, including Shanghai, Chengdu, Hangzhou and Guangzhou, as they saw a large number of visitors following the Zeekr 001 discounts.

Zeekr kicked off its efforts to enter international markets this year, announcing on June 27 that it had begun pre-sales of the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X in Europe, with a starting price of 59,490 euros ($64,510), and 44,990 euros, respectively, and that deliveries would begin within the year.

On August 25, Zeekr’s first Zeekr 001 models built for European customers set sail in order to enable local deliveries in the fourth quarter.

    ($1 = RMB 7.2614, $1 = 0.9222 EUR)
