Tesla delivered 484,507 units in the fourth quarter, beating market expectations of 483,173 units.

Tesla beat Wall Street’s expectations for global deliveries in the fourth quarter, bringing full-year deliveries to its 1.8 million-unit target.

The US electric vehicle (EV) maker delivered 484,507 units in the fourth quarter, beating market expectations of 483,173 units, according to data released today. That’s up 19.55 percent year-on-year and up 11.37 percent from the third quarter.

Model 3 and Model Y deliveries totaled 461,538 units in the fourth quarter, below market expectations of 462,523 units.

Other models, including the Model S, Model X and Cybertruck, delivered 22,969 units in the fourth quarter.

For the full year 2023, Tesla delivered 1,808,581 units worldwide, up 37.65 percent year-on-year, meeting its 2023 target of delivering 1.8 million units.

Tesla produced 494,989 vehicles in the fourth quarter, above market expectations of 482,336 units.

Model 3 and Model Y production in the fourth quarter was 476,777 units, above market expectations of 468,680 units. Production of other models was 18,212 units.

For the full year of 2023, Tesla produced 1,845,985 units, up 35 percent year-on-year.

Model 3 and Model Y production in 2023 was 1,775,159 units and 70,826 units of other models.

Tesla’s deliveries in the third quarter unexpectedly fell 6.67 percent from the second quarter due to a planned shutdown for factory upgrades.

Nonetheless, the company said in October that its 2023 sales target of about 1.8 million vehicles remains unchanged.

In China, Tesla has a factory in Shanghai that produces the Model 3 and Model Y.

Tesla’s Shanghai factory currently has an annual capacity of more than 950,000 vehicles, its largest in the world, according to the company’s third-quarter financial report released in October.

Tesla doesn’t release its deliveries in China, though the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) publishes those numbers every month.

Tesla delivered 28,626 vehicles in China in October and 65,504 in November, according to the CPCA. December sales figures are expected to be available later this month.
