The Luxeed S7 will be the first sedan jointly built by Huawei and an automaker and will surpass the Tesla Model S in every specification, a Huawei executive said.

Luxeed, a new electric vehicle (EV) brand jointly created by Huawei and Chery, will launch its first model, the Luxeed S7, in about two months, an executive at the Chinese tech giant said.

The Luxeed S7 will be launched in November, and the sedan will outperform Tesla’s (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model S in every specification, Richar Yu, chairman of Huawei’s smart car solutions business unit, said at a product launch event yesterday.

The model will be the first sedan that Huawei built jointly with a carmaker. Previously its efforts in the auto sector focused on SUVs, including Aito’s M-series models.

The Luxeed S7 will be a smart coupe that will have room to outperform its class, Yu said.

Yu didn’t mention anything more about the Luxeed S7, but the model has already entered a filing catalog published by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology last month.

The Luxeed S7 measures 4,971 mm in length, 1,963 mm in width and 1,474 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,950 mm, its filing showed.

For comparison, the Tesla Model S has a length, width and height of 4,979 mm, 1,964 mm, 1,445 mm and a wheelbase of 2,960 mm.

Pricing information for the Luxeed S7 is unknown. The Tesla Model S now has a starting price of 698,900 Chinese yuan ($95,600) after several price cuts.

The Luxeed S7 will be available in single and dual-motor versions, both with Huawei as the motor supplier, and supports a top speed of 210 km/h, according to its previous filing.

Its single-motor model comes with an electric motor with a maximum power of 215 kW, and the dual-motor version comes with an additional motor with a maximum power of 150 kW.

On August 7, Yu shared an image on Weibo of the model with the word “LUXEED” emblazoned across the front.

Yu said at the time that the model would be the first all-electric coupe from Huawei’s Zhixuan automotive business, and the first to come with the HarmonyOS 4 operating system.

Luxeed has already started previewing the S7, sharing several images of the model today, according to several car bloggers.

    (1 US dollar = 7.3119 Chinese yuan)

Regulatory filing: Core specs of Luxeed S7, jointly built by Huawei and Chery, revealed
