Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) has lowered its second-quarter vehicle delivery guidance, citing the temporary impact of a sales system upgrade.

The company updated its second-quarter delivery guidance to 108,000 units in a statement today, down from the previously announced range of 123,000 to 128,000 units.

This means Li Auto now expects its June deliveries to be about 33,205 units, considering it delivered 33,939 units in April and 40,856 units in May.

This adjustment reflects the temporary impact of the sales system upgrade undertaken to support long-term growth, Li Auto said.

The company is confident it will complete the organizational structure upgrade before the launch of the Li i8, enabling it to effectively address the new product cycle with enhanced organizational capabilities, it said.

Earlier today, local media outlet 36kr reported that Li Auto announced new personnel appointments, with president Ma Donghui assuming full responsibility for R&D, supply chain, manufacturing, and sales operations, reporting directly to CEO Li Xiang.

The core of this adjustment lies in integrating the sales department into the R&D and supply group, with Ma overseeing production, supply, and sales operations, the report said.

The change is aimed at preparing for the upcoming launch of Li Auto’s two battery electric vehicle (BEV) models, the report noted.

This move comes after Xiaomi (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY) launched its YU7 electric SUV (sport utility vehicle). Li Auto’s upcoming Li i8 and Li i6 models are also potential competitors to Xiaomi’s SUV, 36kr noted.

The Xiaomi YU7 received over 200,000 firm orders within the first three minutes of its launch last night, marking a rare case in China’s EV market.

Earlier today, Xiaomi EV announced on Weibo that the YU7 had secured over 240,000 locked-in orders within 18 hours of its launch.

Li i8 will be launched in late July, with preparations for production and delivery now in their final stages.
