Nio’s (NYSE: NIO) first phone model saw a change in its filing today, revealing more information about the specs of the model, which is expected to be released later this month.

The Nio phone adds exterior options, and there are changes to the software, standby, and calling options, according to a filing change published on the website of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The information about the storage unit of the device has also seen changes with the addition of “RAM 16 GB + ROM 1 TB” and “RAM 16 GB + ROM 512 GB” options.

Other than that, the rest of the device’s information remains unchanged and the filing image is not yet available.

On August 7, Antutu, a popular cell phone performance benchmarking platform, said that a version of the Nio phone was included in its database.

Although Nio is a newcomer to the mobile market, it has opted for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC (system on chip) with 12 GB of RAM built-in as well as 1 TB of storage, according to Antutu.

Nio co-founder and president Qin Lihong said at a partner conference that the company will launch its first phone model on September 21, according to a Weibo user who shared the information yesterday.

Deliveries of Nio’s first phone will begin in late September, and the device is meaningful for adding to the competitiveness of Nio’s models, Nio’s management said in an analyst call on August 29 after announcing its second-quarter earnings.

The Nio phone will be a flagship Android-powered handset that is a great value when used as a backup by iPhone users, local media outlet Yiche quoted Nio’s founder, chairman and CEO William Li as saying in a group chat on August 28.
