BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has launched the Dolphin and Seal in Finland, bringing the two electric vehicles to more markets.

BYD has partnered with Finnish dealer RSA to start offering the Dolphin and Seal there, according to a press release from the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) giant today.

The Dolphin and Seal will be available immediately at BYD stores, the company said.

Following the launch of the new models, RSA will expand the BYD retail store network, BYD said, adding that the new stores will be opened in Tampere, Espoo, Vantaa, Pori, Kuopio, Jyväskylä, and other major cities in Finland.

On September 28, 2022, BYD released three battery electric vehicles (BEVs) — Atto 3, Han, and Tang — to the European market, with the Netherlands being one of several markets to receive deliveries of these models.

” The launch of our new BYD DOLPHIN and BYD SEAL models underscores our commitment to a greener and better future, and we are excited to offer these exceptional models alongside our existing BYD Atto 3, Han, and Tang models,” said Michael Shu, managing director of BYD Europe.

BYD initially launched the Dolphin in China on August 29, 2021 as the first product in its Ocean vehicle lineup. To date BYD has brought the Dolphin to a number of markets including Mexico, Japan, Thailand, Singapore and Australia.

The BYD Seal BEV, initially launched in China on July 29, 2022, is one of the main competitors to the Tesla Model 3.

On September 6, BYD launched the hybrid version of the Seal DM-i in China, making it the latest model in the Seal series.

As of now, the Seal is available in markets including Singapore, Chile, Brazil, and Japan.

BYD sold a record 287,454 NEVs in September, with the Dolphin contributing 32,927 units and the Seal series contributing 14,427 units.

In September, BYD sold a record 28,039 NEVs in overseas markets, up 12.05 percent from 25,023 in August.
