The facelifted Model Y has been better accepted than the facelifted Model 3 in China, according to local media. (An image of the facelifted Model Y shared by Tesla’s vice president of external affairs Grace Tao on Weibo.) Tesla’s (NASDAQ: TSLA) facelifted Model Y has been better accepted than the facelifted Model 3 after its launch in China, with orders exceeding 70,000 units in the first five days after its launch, local media outlet Yicai said in a January 25 report, citing an insider.…

The new Tesla Model Y is about to land in the U.S. And when it does, it comes with more range—and a bigger price tag, at least at first. Tesla updated its U.S. website on Thursday with the refreshed Model Y that recently went on sale in China. There’s only one trim listed on the website currently, the Long Range all-wheel drive christened as the “Launch Series.” The automaker said deliveries of the U.S.-spec version would begin in March at $59,990 before factoring in destination, taxes and incentives. That makes this trim about $12,000 more expensive than the equivalent trim…
Tesla has officially launched the new Model Y in North America and Europe after launching it in China earlier this month. The difference is that Tesla is now taking orders for both the older and newer versions of its best-selling electric SUV. That’s a unique launch for Tesla. I don’t remember the automaker doing that before. After launching the new Model Y design refresh in China two weeks ago, Tesla is now starting to take orders for the refresh in North America and Europe. But it looks like the design refresh is still a transitional in Tesla’s production as the…

Stellantis has reportedly cancelled a bigger-battery version of the Ram 1500 REV electric pickup truck that the automaker previously said would offer 500 miles of range. According to a Wednesday Mopar Insiders report, the truck brand is now telling suppliers that the long-range model has been cancelled, and to cease work and spending on any parts related to it. A Stellantis spokesperson would only say Ram’s decision to launch the Ramcharger first and shift focus is driven by consumer interest. 2025 Ram 1500 REV The report to drop the bigger battery leaves the 168-kwh pack—also double-layer—which Ram previously estimated would…
It’s fair to say Honda’s been behind the ball when it comes to electric vehicles. Chevrolet launched the Bolt EV in 2016, Ford introduced the Mustang Mach-E in 2020 and Tesla’s been doing its thing for far longer than that. Aside from compliance-car experiments like the Honda Fit EV, any Americans who wanted a battery-powered Honda had to wait until last year when the Prologue burst onto the scene. And as it turns out, there were a lot of Americans waiting for just that. Honda moved over 33,000 Prologues last year, landing it the No.7 spot among the best-selling electric models and…
Overall passenger car retail sales are expected to be around 1.75 million units, down 33.6 percent from the previous month. The overall market is weak, as the new round of incentives have just been announced, and consumers were in a wait-and-see mood at the beginning of the month. China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) sales are expected to be significantly lower this month than the previous month, continuing the seasonal pattern of the past. In January, retail sales of passenger NEVs in China are estimated at 720,000 units, up 7.22 percent year-on-year, but 44.70 percent lower than in December, according to…
