Kia America has announced pricing for the 2024 Niro EV as the battery-electric subcompact crossover enters the second model year of its second generation. The 2024 Kia Niro EV starts at $40,925 (including $1,325 destination), making it only $180 more expensive than last year. EV sales will accelerate rapidly over the next few years, topping two-thirds of global car sales by 2030, the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) predicts. In research presented ahead of Climate Week NYC, analysts predict that EV sales will increase at least sixfold by 2030 to a market share of 62% to 86% of new car sales. Jaguar announced that it has signed an agreement with Tesla to gain access to Tesla’s extensive Supercharging network in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Additionally, the company officially revealed that its next-generation electric models, which will be launched in 2025, will incorporate the Tesla-developed North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging connector. Tesla reveals employment numbers at Gigafactory Texas that are so incredibly high they make the automaker one of the biggest employers in central Texas, and it’s just the beginning.
