BYD‘s premium brand Yangwang will unveil a new platform as well as a concept car on the first day of the Guangzhou auto show this Friday, continuing to showcase its technological prowess.

Yangwang will unveil a supercar platform as well as a concept car based on e⁴ technology at the Guangzhou auto show on November 17, with the event set to begin at 10:20 am Beijing time, the brand said on Weibo today.

Yangwang will unveil two technological breakthroughs that challenge the upper limits of performance and safety in the automotive industry, it said, without providing further information.

The upcoming Guangzhou auto show will begin on Friday, with a media day on November 17, days for professional visitors from November 18 to November 19, and days for the general public from November 20 to November 26.

The brands under the BYD umbrella occupies most of the booths in Hall 4.2 on the 2nd floor of Zone A. Yangwang is in Booth 2D05 and BYD in Booth 2D06.

Yangwang is BYD’s premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand launched in January, when the Yangwang U8 off-road SUV and the Yangwang U9 supercar was unveiled.

The Yangwang U8 is now on sale, with deliveries expected to begin later this month, while the Yangwang U9 has yet to be officially launched.

BYD highlighted the technology platform, called e⁴, at its January launch event, saying that all future models of the Yangwang brand will be built on it.

BYD started the launch event by having an SUV enter in crab-walk mode to show off the technology.

The e⁴ is China’s first mass-produced quad-motor independent drive technology platform, capable of realizing precise control of the vehicle’s four-wheel dynamics thanks to its quad-motor independent vector control technology, BYD previously said.
