    Li Auto Sept deliveries breakdown: EREVs continue steep decline, Mega hits record high

    Li Auto Sept deliveries breakdown: EREVs continue steep decline, Mega hits record high

    Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) experienced a further significant decline in September deliveries of its L-series extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), leading to continued overall monthly delivery declines.

    The company’s current lineup includes L-series EREVs — Li L6, Li L7, Li L8, Li L9 — the Li Mega electric MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), and the Li i6 and Li i8 electric SUVs (sport utility vehicles).

    These models collectively delivered 33,951 units in September, down 36.79 percent year-on-year, marking the fourth consecutive month of year-on-year decline.

    The Li L6 delivered 12,325 units in September, remaining Li Auto’s best-selling model, according to data compiled by CnEVPost from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

    Monthly deliveries of the SUV fell 51.46 percent year-on-year, marking the fourth consecutive month of decline, though it increased 9.88 percent compared to August.

    The Li L6, Li Auto’s most affordable model with a starting price of RMB 249,800 ($35,000), contributed 36.30 percent of Li Auto’s September deliveries.

    From January to September, the Li L6 delivered 134,726 units, accounting for 45.34 percent of Li Auto’s total deliveries of 297,149 during the same period.

    The Li L7 delivered 6,006 units in September, down 52.82 percent year-on-year, though up 11.61 percent from August. The model accounted for 17.69 percent of Li Auto’s September deliveries.

    From January to September, the Li L7 delivered 64,998 units, down 33.64 percent year-on-year, contributing 21.87 percent to Li Auto’s cumulative deliveries during this period.

    The Li L8 delivered 2,436 units in September, down 65.73 percent year-on-year and 7.69 percent month-on-month. The model contributed 7.18 percent to Li Auto’s monthly deliveries.

    From January to September, the Li L8 delivered 35,931 units, down 36.06 percent year-on-year, accounting for 12.09 percent of Li Auto’s deliveries during this period.

    The Li L9 delivered 3,787 units in September, down 50.15 percent year-on-year and 4.34 percent month-on-month. The model contributed 11.15 percent to Li Auto’s monthly deliveries.

    From January to September, the Li L9 delivered 38,144 units, down 41.73 percent year-on-year, accounting for 12.84 percent of Li Auto’s deliveries during this period.

    The Li Mega delivered 3,277 units in September, surpassing its previous record of 3,229 units set in March 2024 to reach a new high, contributing 9.65 percent to Li Auto’s monthly deliveries. This represents a 272.81 percent year-on-year increase and a 5.00 percent rise from August.

    From January to September, the Li Mega delivered 15,019 units, accounting for 5.05 percent of Li Auto’s total deliveries during this period.

    Li Auto launched the updated Li Mega on April 23 and the updated L Series EREVs on May 8.

    Deliveries of the updated L series commenced on May 9, while deliveries of the updated Li Mega began on May 23.

    The Li i8, Li Auto’s first pure-electric SUV, delivered 5,716 units in September, a 158.41 percent increase from August’s 2,212 units.

    Li Auto launched the Li i8 on July 29, with deliveries commencing on August 20.

    The Li i6, launched on September 26, delivered 404 units in September.

    The company aims for stable monthly deliveries of 6,000 units for the Li i8 and 9,000-10,000 units for the Li i6 by year-end.

    Li Auto delivers 33,951 cars in Sept, 4th consecutive month of sharp year-on-year decline

    In the third quarter, Li Auto delivered 93,211 vehicles, a 39.01 percent decrease compared to the same period last year.
