    BYD Sept sales breakdown: Qin 67,577 units, Sealion 54,065

    • The BYD Qin family models sold 67,577 units in September, remaining BYD’s top-selling lineup.
    • The Sealion family sold 54,065 units in September, surpassing the Seal family to become BYD’s second-highest selling lineup.

    BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) Qin family models continued to contribute the most sales, while the strong performance of the Sealion family propelled it to second place.

    The Qin family sold 67,577 units in September, remaining BYD’s top-selling lineup, according to data released today.

    This represents a 10.83 percent year-on-year decrease but an 8.02 percent increase compared to August.

    The BYD Sealion family sold 54,065 units in September, surpassing the Seal family to become BYD’s second-highest selling model for the first time.

    This represents a 363.56 percent year-on-year increase and a 1.48 percent rise from August. The family’s first model, the Sealion 07 EV, was launched on May 10, 2024.

    BYD Seal sold 51,359 units in September, ranking as the third-highest selling BYD model. This represents an 11.88 percent year-on-year decrease but a 4.88 percent increase compared to August.

    The BYD Yuan family sold 45,291 units in September, down 0.72 percent year-on-year but up 22.26 percent compared to August.

    The Song family sold 42,178 units in September, down 52.68 percent year-on-year and down 2.34 percent month-on-month.

    Current Song family models include the Dynasty series’ Song L EV, Song L DM-i, and Song Pro DM-i, alongside the Ocean series’ Song Plus EV and Song Plus DM-i.

    BYD’s Dynasty series Song models sold 24,089 units in September, down 47.77 percent year-on-year and down 11.22 percent month-on-month.

    Its Ocean series Song models sold 18,089 units in September, down 57.94 percent year-on-year but up 12.67 percent month-on-month.

    BYD’s Seagull sold 34,586 units in September, down 20.35 percent year-on-year but up 1.12 percent month-on-month.

    BYD’s Dolphin sold 21,888 units in September, up 7.58 percent year-on-year and up 0.83 percent month-on-month.

    BYD Tang sold 13,620 units in September, up 8.51 percent year-on-year and up 53.72 percent month-on-month.

    BYD Chaser 05 sold 9,250 units in September, down 44.78 percent year-on-year and down 7.31 percent month-on-month.

    BYD Han sold 8,690 units in September, down 64.57 percent year-on-year and down 6.95 percent month-on-month.

    BYD Xia MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) sold 3,384 units in September, down 33.32 percent from August.

    BYD e2 sold 127 units in September, down 26.59 percent year-on-year but up 4.10 percent month-on-month.

    BYD brand passenger vehicles, including the Dynasty and Ocean series, sold a combined 352,015 units in September, down 11.71 percent year-on-year but up 3.73 percent month-on-month.

    The Dynasty series sold 162,651 units in September, down 20.50 percent year-on-year but up 8.42 percent from August.

    The Ocean series sold 189,364 units in September, down 2.44 percent year-on-year while flat from August’s 189,340 units.

    BYD’s premium Denza brand sold 12,407 units in September, up 20.47 percent year-on-year up and 3.45 percent month-on-month.

    Denza’s September sales comprised 8,944 units of the D9 MPV, 841 units of the Z9 series, 2,524 units of the N9, and 98 units of the N7.

    BYD’s personalized sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao sold 24,121 vehicles in September, a 344.87 percent increase year-on-year and a 48.30 percent increase month-on-month.

    This included 8,902 Tai 3 units, 8,128 Tai 7 units, 5,425 Bao 5 units, and 1,666 Bao 8 units.

    BYD’s ultra-luxury sub-brand Yangwang sold 758 vehicles in September, marking a 144.52 percent year-on-year increase and an 87.16 percent rise from August.

    The Yangwang U8 SUV sold 280 units, the U9 electric supercar sold 5 units, and the U7 sedan sold 473 units.


    BYD Sept NEV sales down 5.52% year-on-year as hybrids continue to decline

    This marks the first year-on-year decline in BYD’s monthly NEV sales since March 2024, with PHEV sales falling 25.58 percent.
