Nio (NYSE: NIO) today launched the Champion Edition variants for the ET5 sedan, ET5 Touring wagon, and EC6 coupe SUV (sport utility vehicle) to commemorate the company’s first-ever annual drivers’ championship title in the 2015 Formula E Championship.

The starting prices for the ET5 and ET5 Touring Champion Editions including a 75-kWh standard-range battery pack are both RMB 316,000, an increase of RMB 18,000 or 6.04 percent compared to the RMB 298,000 starting price of their standard versions.

Under the BaaS (Battery as a Service) purchasing scheme, their starting prices are both RMB 246,000, higher than the standard versions’ RMB 228,000.

The EC6 Champion Edition including a 75-kWh battery pack has a starting price of RMB 370,000, which is RMB 12,000 or 3.35 percent higher than the standard version’s RMB 358,000.

Under the BaaS plan, the starting price for the EC6 Champion Edition is RMB 300,000, which is higher than the standard version’s RMB 288,000.

The monthly rental fee for the standard-range battery pack is RMB 728 per month, the same as for regular Nio models.

The Champion Edition models feature exclusive exterior design inspired by the championship-winning race car, according to Nio.

They come standard with the Moon exterior theme package, featuring green high-performance brake calipers, matte metal accents, and an exclusive Champion Edition badge to highlight their premium status.

The ET5 and ET5 Touring Champion Editions come standard with larger 20-inch wheels and offer nine exterior color options.

These two sedan models also feature chassis hardware upgrades for more precise handling, according to Nio.

The EC6 Champion Edition comes standard with 21-inch wheels and offers eight exterior color options.

Nio is offering purchase incentives for consumers who purchase any of the three Champion Edition models by July 31, including 5 years of interest-free financing, 240 free battery swaps valid for 5 years, and 5 years of free use of the NOP+ (Navigate on Pilot Plus) driver assistance feature.

Customers purchasing the ET5 and ET5 Touring Champion Edition models can also receive a free comfort package worth RMB 9,500 and a discount on the carbon fiber package.

Nio now allows customers to lock in orders for the Champion Edition models, with deliveries set to begin on July 9. Display vehicles are currently available at Nio stores.

Nio launched the updated ET5, ET5 Touring, EC, and ES6 SUV models in May. The main upgrades include switching the smart driving chip from Nvidia Orin X to the in-house developed Shenji NX9031, and changing the central screen from a vertical to a horizontal layout.
