IM Motors, the electric vehicle (EV) unit of SAIC Motor Corp, has launched the updated IM LS7 electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) as Xiaomi (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY) prepares to launch its first SUV later this month.

The updated IM LS7 is available in a single Ultra variant, with an official guide retail price of RMB 339,900 ($47,310).

IM Motors is offering a limited-time discount of RMB 10,000 for customers who purchase the model by July 31, reducing the starting price to RMB 329,900.

The IM LS7 was initially launched in February 2023. It previously offered four variants before the latest update, with starting prices ranging from RMB 329,800 to RMB 399,800.

The updated IM LS7 is built on an 800-volt high-voltage platform and features a four-wheel steering system for greater flexibility.

The model is a pure electric SUV with dimensions of 5,049 mm in length, 2,002 mm in width, and 1,784 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,060 mm.

It is taller than the previous generation’s 1,731 mm in height, with other dimensions remaining unchanged.

The updated IM LS7 is equipped with an all-wheel-drive powertrain, with the front motor delivering a maximum power of 200 kW and the rear motor delivering a maximum power of 379 kW, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. It supports a top speed of 239 km/h.

The model is equipped with a 100 kWh ternary lithium-ion battery pack, offering a CLTC range of 700 kilometers.

The updated IM LS7 can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in as little as 16.8 minutes.

The updated IM LS7’s cockpit system is IMOS 3.6.0, which integrates DeepSeek’s large language models.

Consumers who purchase the vehicle before July 31 can enjoy free configuration upgrades worth up to RMB 42,400 and a RMB 3,000 discount on exterior color options.

The updated IM LS7 is the latest electric SUV in the Chinese market. Earlier today, Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, announced that the company’s YU7 SUV will officially launch later this month.

The YU7 is expected to be one of the most important EV models of the year, given Xiaomi’s huge success with the SU7.
